Nessa's Cornish Workshop

Dydh da! Fatla genes? (Hello! How are you?)

Nessa class were very excited to welcome Joe into our classroom recently where Joe spent the afternoon teaching Nessa how to speak Cornish. We listened to Cornish stories read by Joe and joined in with the repeated phrases. We learnt to count in Cornish too: Onan, du, tri, peswara, pimp! (One, two, three, four, five!)

Nessa got very creative making a range of Cornish flowers out of coloured napkins. We learnt how to say different colours in Cornish. We made gwynn (white), melyn (yellow), rudh (red), gwynnrudh (pink) and glas (blue) flowers. You might be able to spot our flowers displayed in a shop window in Penzance very soon! On February 24th 2018 there will be a Cornish treasure hunt in Penzance where we can put our Cornish language skills to the test! There's even cream teas for those who get involved!
